Today is VOTE day. I woke up to a note on my desk. It resembled a ballot and with lots of paw prints on it, crumbs of snackers, a whisker and a few dots of can food. Had to be cat related! While the kittens were playing, the cats were accumulating in the purple office. They were feeling very catriotic and gave me a list.

We've had 2 more adoptions!
Frankie--our dear, sweet, loving kitten found a home and it's awesome! They love him very much! He was adopted 10/30. His new name is Franz. Because he was waking his new mom and dad up at 4:00, they keep him supplied with a dish of kibble in their bedroom for night snacking! He loves his fur toy on a stick! Happy kitten.
Dyambu was adopted 10/30. He went into a home with a mom, dad and a cat named Lynx. Lynx and Dyambu are already good buds! He is much loved already!
As many of you already know, we have lost a great friend and moderator of our chat--Kazz. Kazz has always been very supportive of FFRC, has been a joyful person. And compassionate. We shall all miss her very much. It continues to amaze me how this FFRCNation is. Even though many of us have never met face to face, we are friends. Good friends, family-type friends. And that means a lot. Rest in Peace, Kazz. You are missed.
A big thanks to our mods for the donation to FFRC, in memory of our friend Kazz. Touches my heart.
We've been even extra busy here. We have taken more cats and kittens on to care for. Our "inn" is full but these kitties were living under a house, needing some help. There are 6 of them--4 are siblings and then 2 are individual kittens. They are happy to be in out of the cold.Their names are from Name A Cat list. They arrived 10/31/20
Kaylee--female, lynx point siamese, long hair, born 8/1/20
Kafuzzle--female, lynx point siamese, long hair, born 8/1/20
Kazz 💙--female, lynx point siamese, shorter hair, born 8/1/20
Comanche--male, flame point siamese, short hair, born 8/1/20
Coffee--male, seal point siamese, short hair, born 4/26/20
Chewey--male, grey DSH, born 6/27/20
On 1/31/20, we also took on another kitten. Her name is Sparrow, another Lynx point siamese, short hair. Her birthday is 6/27/20. (Not found where other siamese were.) Sparrow is a sweetie and has captured our hearts--she purrs instantly. She had been HBC--hit by a car. She spent the day at our veterinary office yesterday. X-rays revealed her problem. We had initially thought she had fractured her pelvis because both rear legs are very wobbly. I wish this was the case. Her x-rays reveal that she took the blow of the impact on both knees. The left is worse than the right. The problem is, she is a kitten and not only are both knees fractured, but it also includes the growth plates of the distal femurs. We have no magical surgery that can fix this so for now, rest, pain meds and TLC will suffice. Also antibiotics due to an open sore at one of the knees from the impact. We moved her yesterday to the top double condos in the back Thumper's Room. Please keep her in your prayers and good thoughts.
Update on Zasha, our grey/white cat that had the double amputation--ear and rear left leg. Unfortunately, even with having antibiotics on board, she has developed an infection in her leg incision area and it's opened up. Dr. Darcy was consulated and we added another antibiotic. Plus, her wound is being flushed twice daily. She is eating good and loves to have her tummy rubbed. Please also keep her in your prayers and good thoughts.
Yesterday was our HumaneOhio surgery day. We sent up 50 cats! An extra good send-up! And yesterday was HumaneOhio's first day in their new building! We sent 36 females and 14 males. This included 5 of FFRC's cats. Our total for 2020 is now at 969 cats!
We have two adoptions on Weds--Soda and Nother will be going to their new home, together. On Saturday, our adult Irene will be leaving. We also have Dis and Dat now on hold.
We have thanks to give!

Another special thanks goes to St. Mary's Parish Ministry Center. FOr National Cat Day, they did a collection for FFRC and then delivered it too! Lots of items--paper towels, baby wipes, dry cat food, toys, towels, etc. So very kind of them and much appreciated.
We've had an update on Zastria. She enjoys looking out the patio door. She had her first viritor and was very friendly. She is adjusting nicely and her new mama is enjoying her. Zastria likes her human's bed and her lap for a nap!
All is well in the cat FFRC world. The doors are open clear from the back to the front. The kittens are starting to come up to the main area. Paulie just ran into the purple office with Sodo in hot pursuit. Paulie dove into the cavity under the climbing steps. Completely threw Sodo off--he sat there looking for a couple minutes, trying to find Paulie while Paulie was sitting ever so still! Just like kids!
