Dr. Darcy checked Mowgli over again. She had already seen her close to her arrival time here. Here is her update: as suspected, she too feels her tongue problem has been caused by something caustic.--something that has caused her tongue to corrode from a chemical action. Initially, we thought something might have been around her tongue, which proved untrue as nothing was found to be caught in her mouth. Cancer also crossed our minds, but thankfully, that is not an issue. As her tongue has undergone different stages of "looks", it does indeed seem to be from something that has corroded her tongue.
A tongue is not something you want to cut, because of the many blood vessels involved. With Mowgli's tongue, she is simply sloughing away the bad tissue. This happens slowly, so the blood vessels are sealed off as the process continues. This all takes time. In the meantime, she is receiving anti-inflammatories, soreness meds and antibiotics. She is amazing and so very tolerant. And sooooo loves to eat!
Many thanks to Joyce D and to Gusti for providing drinks and pizza for surgery yesterday--so very kind!
One of the most beautiful sounds, to me, is the morning song of the birds. They started this morning about 6:25--truly a wonderful song! And their background sound are the roosters crowing!
We had BOXES on Thursday. Big time thanks!

We had another adoption! Feather went to her new home. Actually, we went back to the home where the lady had found her outside, pregnant and very close to giving birth. This new mama has visited her 1-2 times weekly since she brought her here.
Today, we should have 3 more adoptions, this morning!
Tomorrow or Tuesday, Oliver Taylor Blackwell will have his sutures removed.
Tuesday will be a Quickie Flash Sale.
We took on a new cat Friday. Her name is Citrine. She was found at the Independence Dam and brought to FFRC. She's a pretty gold & white female, about 1 1/2 years old. Her birthday is 10/3/17. We had her spayed yesterday. She is recuperating in the front Thumper's Room.
Sasekani and the 8 kittens are now in the Main Area. They get their extra meals and take their naps in Paddys Place. They've adjusted real well. These 8 kittens are so full of energy--they can fly! All are so very sweet. For the first time in a very long time, the back Thumper's Room is shut down.
