A different day than was intended. Today would've been our Catathon Day. A bit sad at the things we've had to change. But.....life goes on, we carry thru and just jiggle things around a bit.
Yesterday was our FFRC surgery day. We did 8 male kittens and 2 female kittens--all FFRC cats. This brings our 2020 total surgeries to 507.
The males we did were: Ralphie, Raphael, Mr. Fluffypants, Josiah Thomas, Keefer, Muddles, Otis and Shaz.
The females we did were: Xibowa and Roxi.
We also were able to get some physicals done.
Kiara--good
Magic--a little tartar upper right, but otherwise good
Pania--good
Spiker--good, slight right rear knee luxation
Lucie--good
Ramsay--good, his routine ear cleaning done
Jessie--good, but this time noticed a 4/6 heart murmur
Uri--both achilles tendons atrophied--no worries, he is as he is.
Many thanks to Dr. Darcy, Amber, Lynnette, Becky M and Beth for helping with this surgery event.
We've had two more adoptions!
Leeta was adopted 6/17. She went into a home with a young girl. The pictures I've seen are so sweet--cuddle and napping time together!
Marti was adopted 6/18. She went into a home with another cat and 2 young boys--both were super with the cats here.
We have more adoptions coming up on Monday and Tuesday early morning.
Zippy, the cat we trapped last week is doing good. We see him almost everyday. He's making friends with the other Porchies.
We have 2 kittens that are going with a friend of mine. Both are very shy and needs extensive hands on. They are Bluster and Carolina. This is a friend of mine that devotes her time to help rescues. She saves "3 slots" each summer for FFRC. Their medical care (vacc's, etc) will continue there.
We have thanks to give!
Anthony M--donation in honor of Derecho
Kelly I--donation to FFRC
Deb T from MA--donation to FFRC
Burgundy--donation to help with the kittens medicines
Nicole J--donation to FFRC
Extra big thanks to Robin (Elsie's mom). Robin is the creator of the beautiful Fordite jewelry. She made a donation of $300 to FFRC for her sales!
Our Flash Sale was Weds. It was all about Purses, made by Leggygal! We made $600 just from that flash sale! Many thanks also to our Flashie Mods!
Many of you know that Steve and I usually go to Shipshewana in May for our anniversary. Due to the coronavirus, we did not go as many of the places we visit were closed. If all goes as planned, we are going this Tuesday and will be back on Thursday. The volunteers have things covered!
Frankie's feeding tube was removed Saturday morning. He proceeded to eat up a storm! He was then taken back to his Covie home! This morning he ate a good breakfast. We still have 3 more dentals to get in. They are already scheduled.
We have more kittens on hold! Those are: Josiah Thomas, Xibowa, Muddles, Keefer, Aura, Arch, Chico, Otis and Mr. Fluffypants.
We have an adoption Monday at 5 pm
Another adoption Tuesday early morning at 8:15
And we have BOXES Monday at noon! Hope you can join us! You all take good care--stay healthy and enjoy your pets.
