Bonnie, wife of Billypogo, friend of FFRC passed away yesterday late afternoon. We have had 2 wonderful friends pass this week--Bonnie and Kazz.  Many prayers and good thoughts have been sent to their families from our FFRCNation.  We wish for peace for them. Bonnie and Kazz were similar in the ways of both loved to be happy, smiling, positive people. Both will be very missed.

Never take anything for granted. Learn to appreciate what you have. In the blink of an eye, everything can be different. Forgive often and love with all your heart. Life is precious and shorter than you realize, at times it can be messy but just take each day as a gift. Forgive often, help one another, be there for others in good and bad times and be grateful. Remember who is most important to you and always cherish them.

We have much to be thankful for here:

We've had 4 more adoptions!
Soda and Tother were adopted together on 11/4. They have a mom and dad that loved them from the time they met them! Soda is one of Irene's litter and Tother came with the group of 5 tigers.

Buddy and Sodo were adopted together, today, 11/7.  They went to a family with lots of cat lovers! I'm quite sure they will fit very quickly into their new home!

Get your walking/running shoes out or your bike!  For every mile you do, that can give FFRC a bit of cash!  This is through ResQwalk, an app you can get for free for your smart phone. For this last quarter, FFRC was give $68.25! And it's all for just walking....we have to do that anyway, so let it count!

Realty Five, here in Defiance does such a wonderful act of kindness!  For every house they sell, they ask their buyers who they want to donate their community donation to.  They do this for every house they sell!  We just received $472.10!!

We have an update on Boom Boom!  She is doing so well--loves playing with the kids and all of her cat toys. Her family loves her so much. She also likes to watch FFRC on YouTube!

Another update is on Lynnie! She is now 7 months old. She had her first vacation to the family's cabin! "Her purr box is beautiful". She lovesh aving her cheeks and chin rubbed and playing peek-a-boo!

Little Nugget is doing awesome.  He's here in the purple office with me. And he is running....yes, running as fast as those tiny legs can go!  He spends time in a big condo during the day and inside the house at night. His last feeding of the day is at 10:30 by granddaughter Gracie.

Chewy, Coffee and Comanche are all up front now! Chewy is still a bit shy but the other 2 are very confident and ever so sweet. Kazz, Kafuzzle and Kaylee are still hanging out in the back Thumper's Room.  The doors are open most of the day and I expect them to come up soon.

Zasha is doing so well! Her energy level is good as is her appetite. Her sutures are now removed and her incision wound is healing. She is still on soreness meds and 2 antibiotics. I get such a kick out of her when she gets the zoomies--she can spring on those 3 legs just fine!

Sparrow....what a sweetie of a kitten she is. She is on soreness meds and 2 antibiotics also. Her leg wound is now healing nicely. She does get up and move about but she spends most of her time in various beds. We put toys nearby and she loves to play. Her back legs are still very wobbly but she has lots of determination.  Dr. Darcy will see her Saturday.

Saturday is our FFRC surgery day. Planning on doing lots of spays and neuters. We will also have some physicals to do and check ups.

Zuccari, aka Pistol, is doing wonderful. He's learning good behavior from playing with the other kittens. And he's ever so cute. He loves to play and to be cuddled!

He runs with it dragging between his legs! Coralie totally loves her princess bed!

You all take good care. Have a wonderful Sunday tomorrow. It's a very good day.

Tuesday, November 3, 2020

Today is VOTE day.  I woke up to a note on my desk. It resembled a ballot and with lots of paw prints on it, crumbs of snackers, a whisker and a few dots of can food.  Had to be cat related!  While the kittens were playing,  the cats were accumulating in the purple office.  They were feeling very catriotic and gave me a list.

Derecho was voted as the best uncle ever

Ramsay was voted as the gentlest cat

Pania was voted as to how to really SEE the kindness in others

Coralie was voted as how to bear troubles with a smile & a purr

Asha was voted as knowing that everyone can be made a friend

Zelda was voted as the best keeper of treasures--boxes

Alma was voted as how determination can solve problem

Vernon & Hensley were voted as once being enemies ,knowing that being friends is the best.

Kiara was voted as the best for doing good deeds for others

Camvie was voted as a caretaker to many

Magic was voted as being unselfish--he knows how to share his heart

Janie was voted knowing that being different doesn't matter

..........Personally, I like this kind of voting!

We've had 2 more adoptions!

Frankie--our dear, sweet, loving kitten found a home and it's awesome! They love him very much! He was adopted  10/30. His new name is Franz. Because he was waking his new mom and dad up at 4:00, they keep him supplied with a dish of kibble in their bedroom for night snacking! He loves his fur toy on a stick! Happy kitten.

Dyambu was adopted 10/30. He went into a home with a mom, dad and a cat named Lynx. Lynx and Dyambu are already good buds! He is much loved already!

As many of you already know, we have lost a great friend and moderator of our chat--Kazz. Kazz has always been very supportive of FFRC, has been a joyful person. And compassionate. We shall all miss her very much. It continues to amaze me how this FFRCNation is.  Even though  many of us have never met face to face, we are friends. Good friends, family-type friends. And that means a lot.  Rest in Peace, Kazz.  You are missed.

A big thanks to our mods for the donation to FFRC, in memory of our friend Kazz.  Touches my heart.

We've been even extra busy here.  We have taken more cats and kittens on to care for. Our "inn" is full but these kitties were living under a house, needing some help.  There are 6 of them--4 are siblings and then 2 are individual kittens. They are happy to be in out of the cold.Their names are from Name A Cat list. They arrived 10/31/20

Kaylee--female, lynx point siamese, long hair, born 8/1/20

Kafuzzle--female, lynx point siamese, long hair, born 8/1/20

Kazz 💙--female, lynx point siamese, shorter hair, born 8/1/20

Comanche--male, flame point siamese, short hair, born 8/1/20

Coffee--male, seal point siamese, short hair, born 4/26/20

Chewey--male, grey DSH, born 6/27/20

On 1/31/20, we also took on another kitten. Her name is Sparrow, another Lynx point siamese, short hair. Her birthday is 6/27/20. (Not found where other siamese were.)  Sparrow is a sweetie and has captured our hearts--she purrs instantly. She had been HBC--hit by a car. She spent the day at our veterinary office yesterday. X-rays revealed her problem. We had initially thought she had fractured her pelvis because both rear legs are very wobbly. I wish this was the case. Her x-rays reveal that she took the blow of the impact on both knees. The left is worse than the right. The problem is, she is a kitten and not only are both knees fractured, but it also includes the growth plates of the distal femurs. We have no magical surgery that can fix this so for now, rest, pain meds and TLC will suffice. Also antibiotics due to an open sore at one of the knees from the impact. We moved her yesterday to the top double condos in the back Thumper's Room.  Please keep her in your prayers and good thoughts.

Update on Zasha, our grey/white cat that had the double amputation--ear and rear left leg. Unfortunately, even with having antibiotics on board, she has developed an infection in her leg incision area and it's opened up.  Dr. Darcy was consulated and we added another antibiotic. Plus, her wound is being flushed twice daily. She is eating good and loves to have her tummy rubbed.  Please also keep her in your prayers and good thoughts.

Yesterday was our HumaneOhio surgery day.  We sent up 50 cats!  An extra good send-up! And yesterday was HumaneOhio's first day in their new building! We sent 36 females and 14 males.  This included 5 of FFRC's cats. Our total for 2020 is now at 969 cats!

We have two adoptions on Weds--Soda and Nother will be going to their new home, together.  On Saturday, our adult Irene will be leaving. We also have Dis and Dat now on hold.

We have thanks to give!

Another special thanks goes to St. Mary's Parish Ministry Center. FOr National Cat Day, they did a collection for FFRC and then delivered it too! Lots of items--paper towels, baby wipes, dry cat food, toys, towels, etc.  So very kind of them and much appreciated.

We've had an update on Zastria. She enjoys looking out the patio door. She had her first viritor and was very friendly. She is adjusting nicely and her new mama is enjoying her. Zastria likes her human's bed and her lap for a nap!

All is well in the cat FFRC world.  The doors are open clear from the back to the front. The kittens are starting to come up to the main area. Paulie just ran into the purple office with Sodo in hot pursuit. Paulie dove into the cavity under the climbing steps. Completely threw Sodo off--he sat there looking for a couple minutes, trying to find Paulie while Paulie was sitting ever so still!  Just like kids!

This is an extra long blog--a book, actually!  Grab a drink, a snack and a comfy chair!  We have lots to cover!
Hello to all of our FFRC friends.  I'm late........getting a blog out and I'm very sorry.  When Covid first started, I sincerely thought it would give us more time here. Instead, it has caused things to take more time. Needless to say, I'm behind in many things. Lately I've been working hard on our many applications which is very time consuming. It affects everything here including how we do adoption visits, the actual adoption, HumaneOhio, our cleaning, keeping volunteers scheduled, etc.  Because Covid is also hitting everywhere hard, including Defiance, we are working on an FFRC COVID PLAN, to have things in place just in case we have a positive result show up here at FFRC.  I feel it's important to keep you all up to date, to the best I can---and that is because you are important to us. I believe in being up front with you--to be honest. These planning things all take time too. If we ever have to use our Covid Plan, you will be made aware.

And to add to everything, this is just plain hard for most folks. Here, when I put our Closed signs up, I fully thought it would be for a couple weeks. I distinctly remember doing this --made me cry--we had never shut down before. And now, it's months and months later. We are still closed to the general public in trying to keep our many volunteers safe. We do work out safe adoption visits. This pandemic has been rough for everyone--it's caused many changes in our lives.  Tempers are sometimes short, feelings are raw. We just have to keep trying, to be kind, to be thoughtful and to help one another through this. And above all, to be patient with each other.
A friend of FFRC has recently contracted Covid--here is something she copied:

We've had several more adoptions!
McSplish was adopted on 1 0/22.  She went to an incredibly patient family who is letting this sweet girl acclimate to her new home.  They are keeping in touch with FFRC

Bella was adopted 10/24. This was our neighbor's kitten that decided FFRC was the fun place to
be!  We've taken care of her for weeks and have so loved her. She left to be with a family of the
neighbor. They have kids to love on her!

Roosevelt was adopted  10/25. I've heard back from this family and they sure do love Roosevelt!

Kalix was adopted 10/28. She actually lives down the road from FFRC!

Zastria was adopted this morning to a wonderful FFRC friend!

Please forgive me--I have totally confused my mods and the viewers with misspellings of Kalix
name.  The correct spelling is indeed Kalix but I put it as Kelix several different times.  This is a
Name a Cat name. I'm so sorry for the confusion.

Good news for our sweet girl Zasha.  Her leg and ear amputation was done on 10/22. Everything
went well. Her ear tumor was sent in for a biopsy-and it's an innocent growth! She does not
need to have any further part of her ear removed. Dr. Darcy did an awesome job on both
amputations. Zasha is 100% enjoying her soft cushy orthopedic cushions. She does hop down and
back in from the lower condos in the back Thumper's Room. She hasn't wanted to venture out yet. Her sutures will be coming out soon.

And now--more catch ups.  We have taken on more kittens and cats.
Nugget--a little bitty black/white boy that has long fur. He arrived at 3 weeks of age and weighed .85 ounces. He was all by himself outside--no place for a tiny kitty. Plus, the fleas were terrible for him.  What a sweetie!  He gets fed 7 times a day and gobbles up his syringe fed formula!

Joy II--also called Joy Joy. She is a long hair black/white female that arrived on 10/25. Someone must have dumped her at our local WalMart. That night is when it poured. She took shelter under the cars. Our volunteer that works at WalMart and her co-worker trapped her.  What a beauty. She has a blackchin, black nose and a black dot on her left cheek.  Her birthday is 9/14/18.

LewBeth--another long hair black/white. She is named after our friend LewBeth that passed away. She arrived 10/28/20 and has a birthday of 4/10/19. She has a black nose, black chin. She was so hungry when she arrived and is a bit thin. Another sweetie girl.

Zuccari--and yet, another black/white kitten, long hair.  Zucarri was found by a volunteer, on her
doorstep in the dark. Where did he come from? He weighed 2.03 upon arrival and the boy never stops eating. His nickname is Pistol, for a good reason. This little guy is a go-go-go boy--if he's not down and out for a nap, he's on the move. And ornery.......yes, sir! That's our Zucaari! His birthday is 9/2/20. He arrived 10/28/20.  He's a real treat.

And then, the kittens that we have said we would take in (before my vacation),  have arrived. Their birthday is 9/4/20. Their mama is now spayed. The family kept 2 of the kittens and we took 5. They are very cute (and sweet) DSH's and ASH's.  They arrived 10/29.
Dis--ASH (american short hair), female
Dat--ASH, female (shaved tummy for ID)
Tother--ASH, male
Anda--DSH (domestic short hair), brown tiger, female (shaved tummy for ID)
Nother--DSH, brown tiger, female
Ok--now, read those names down from the top!  Guess who presented these names--LJ, of course!

IMPORTANT!! Please check this out!  It's about a Pampered CHef Party and FFRC!  The link is:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1055593811535684/members     Thank you!

Remember Owen, our sweet boy that was adopted 2 months ago?  His mama so loves him. He likes to watch the geese flying by and the leaves! He's a super cuddler. His favorite toy--a big brown paper bag!

Yahtzee and Simpson were also adopted about 2 months ago. I received lovely pictures of them. Their new mama loves them and says they are great friends to each other. Both Yahtzee and Simpson watches our youtube!

Monday is our next HumaneOhio. surgery day.  Due to Covid, we are trying to do check ins outside yet, despite the cooling temperatures.  We have a safe way of checking the cats in and out.

You might have noticed that Shamballie is up in the Main Area now.  It's true--he's back!  Shamballie is my mom's cat. Auntie Beth is also part of his family.  Shamballie has decided it's great fun to be running out the door, way too often. So, he is now up here with us where we can control that a lot better. Have to keep this sweet boy safe!

We have been spending time getting things ready for winter--we like to have the farm yard completely stocked in case of super snowy weather.  The sunporch has it's clear plastic walls up to keep those porchies warm.  All cat areas have their red lights up now for warmth.

And we have more thanks to give! (due to length of blog, I've condensed a bit!)
Janet M,  Steph M,  Colleen P,  Barbara F,  Kelly L,  Marti W,  Svetlana AG,  Janet K,  Victoria OB, Donavon S,  Joseph V,  Yukihiro M,  Marti W,  Bill M,  Janet S,  Dora A

I've also received an update on Roosevelt. He has blended into his new home so nicely! They
love him very much.

Folks--please keep our mods in your good thoughts and prayers.  They are human, just like us.
Sometimes, they too, are dealing with hard things.  Please, when you see them in chat, give them a big thanks for all they do and wish them a happy day.

Thanks, everyone for all you do for us.  YOU make it possible for what we do here. We try our best to do the very best for our cats and kittens!

And be patient with me too!  I make mistakes (LOTS of them!).  If I've forgotten something, or neglected to do something I said I would do or I haven't returned a message back to you yet.........just let me know!

Ramsay is on the move today!  We all love it when that boy decides to change his locations by himself. It may take him a while, but when he does, he's so very happy!

And CDot continues to be an extra sweetie! He's only "stolen" my mask twice today.  I told him those masks are to be respected but he just gave me that ornery look and ran away with it!

Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020

Yesterday was another HumaneOhio day! We sent up 33 cats--12 males and 21 females, plus we sent up a male dog that belongs to an FFRC friend.

As I am typing, I am being "mauled" by CDot!  He is a complete nut!  He's on my shoulder, the desk, the keyboard, in my ear, drooling and slobbering and purring like a semi truckHe also is a mask thief--he's been known to run off with our masks! And he looks so very innocent.  I just love this kitten but I cannot adopt him. He needs a home!!  As an orangie, he's absolutely perfect.

We've had another adoption--

Terri was adopted on 10/17. Such a sweet brown tiger kitten! She was adopted by a family with 4 kids that were so wonderful to her!

We had Buddy adopted briefly by the lady who rescued him. But, he's an active boy and needs a home with pets that will play with him.  She has 2 cats, but they are older and sedate in their ways. Buddy was also being a leg tripper and she was afraid she would fall. So....yes, Buddy is back and already rocking and rolling with his friends.

We also took in a new cat. Her name is Zasha, a grey and white cat. She is probably a hit by car victim. She was hit hard enough to cause her bone to stick out in her rear left leg. She also has a very strange growth on her left ear.  Dr. Darcy will be seeing her on Thursday for a leg amputation and a possible partial ear flap removal. This sweetie loves everyone and can purr and purr and then purr some more!  We have her on antibiotics and pain meds. She's a very happy girl. Please keep her in your good thoughts and prayers.  She has a bit of a recovery to get through.

We have thanks to give.  Your supports is what helps us get through these times.

Our next two HumaneOhio surgery dates are: November 2 and 16.

The next FFRC surgery date is November 14, Saturday.

Plus, in November, we have 3 cats scheduled for their dentals.

Stay well, and be kind, friends. We need it now more than ever.

be kind wash your hands coronavirus

The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that's ok. We each have a different story.  If you need to stay home, stay home, but be kind.  If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind!  Let's not judge fellow humans because you're not in their story. We all are in different mental states than we were months ago.  So remember, be kind.

Yesterday, we had a Flash Sale. I'd like to thank everyone who donated the items for this sale and to those that purchased these items. It was a great sale and brought in $413.00 to help us with bills!!

Today was one of my favoritest mornings--it was a HumaneOhio surgery day!  We checked in 44 cats and kittens. This broke down to 21 females and 23 males., including 4 of FFRC kittens which are Soda, Sodo, Roosevelt and Buddy.  This brings our 2020 total to 886 kittens and cats.   Last year for 2019 at this time, we were at 928. But....remember, HumaneOhio was shut down for a few months. We're back on a roll now though and have another HumaneOhio date on Monday, October 19.

We originally was going to have surgery at FFRC on this Saturday but due to a memorial event with my family for my sister, we cancelled it.  Now, we have had to cancel the memorial event due to the covid numbers increasing. Some of my family are from states, that if they were to visit Ohio, they would have had to quarantine for 2 weeks.  So......we are playing it safe and will plan this at another time.

We have had 3 adoptions recently.
Smokey--was actually adopted during my vacation to a volunteer, but we're counting her for October 1!  I love this cat and was thrilled to have her get a home!

Djinn and Cohen were adopted together on 10/13. They are now Texan kittens!  It was a very long drive--2 full days but they were excellent travelers! They are now in their home and already very bonded with their new mom and dad.  So happy for all of them!

This weekend, we have families coming both mornings to look at the kittens and possibly pick a new family pet. We will continue to practice Covid safety measures. We also have Boom Boom and Buddy on hold.

We took in 4 little kittens on Monday, the 12th. They were born to a mama outside. The family has been trying to catch her, so we can get her spayed.  These kittens are 4 weeks old, all appear healthy and have been in the front Thumper's Room.  Their names are from Name a Cat name list.
Daely (pronounced daily), brown tiger, female
Davis, brown tiger, male
Eileen, black tiger, female
Eamon (pronounced a-mon), black, male
Welcome, little ones. They are eating good and are little toy players!

Tomorrow (weather permitting) is our date to get that leaning tree cut down that is in the Covie's playground area.  It's a danger and if it falls, would damage The House that Jonah Built, the Covie Haven and the storage shed inside the playground. We will take much precautions to keep all of the Covies safe.

You all take good care and stay healthy. Derecho--I really think he could've been a poet or a book writer---he wants to add his thoughts!  He wishes everyone to carry one special thing throughout your life and that is hope.  It gives us hope that better things are ahead of us. Hope helps us get through even the toughest of times. With hope, we can work on being where we are meant to be right now and on the path to where we are meant to go.  Keep your hope alive!   Thanks, Derecho! .

Marti W--donation to FFRC
Dora A--donation for the care given to the kitties
KM T and her kitties Emmy, Lark and Lilly--donation to FFRC

Tuesday morning was spent trimming all the toenails and checking ears. This takes some time and all the kitties  and cats behaved (mostly!). Last week we did weights.  We have all the cats nails trimmed but 3---those are 3 tricky ones!  They told me maybe next time they will be in the mood!

Monday was our HumaneOhio surgery day.  The weather was definitely cooler and our numbers were down a bit.  We still sent up 33 cats--23 females and 10 males. Check ins and check outs went smoothly. It won't be long until we have to change to our winter ways of check ins, still keeping covid safe.

Our family vacation starts tomorrow--we are taking a leisurely  drive to the OBX so Steve can stretch his knees often.  I know some folks were concerned with the weather there this past week.  Yes, it's been rough and lots of very very high tides.  The road to our second week's house has 4-6 feet of sand on it. It will  be open tomorrow. They are just at ease with sand as we are with snow! Plow it away!  We will be back Oct. 11 and I'll be ready to get back to "work" on the 12th. I will miss the cats and kitties terribly but I know they will be well taken care of.  We'll get caught up on BOXES and emails after I get back!

Our 3 littlest brown tigers--Clive, Caden and Roosevelt are buddies!  They nap together, eat together and play crazily together!  Irene is doing good and so is Smokey.  They all remain together all day and all night. Very little tussling as to who is what baby. Although, if Smokey had her way, she would take ALL of the kitties!

I do have a bit of sad news to pass on.  Our dear sweet Mesa has passed.  Last Friday she started showing some signs of respiratory distress.  I kept her in the front Thumper's Room where there would be no commotion around her.  She deteriorated Saturday. Dr. Darcy and I talked and it was thought to be her heart. She was in no condition to travel as it would've probably caused a respiratory collapse.  On Sunday, it was decided that it was no longer fair to keep trying with her--she was very uncomfortable and it's never easy when respirations come very labored--so scary.  Mesa passed quietly and peacefully with no more stress.  What an awesome cat she was and is greatly missed.  Some may ask....how do these things happen and they become so bad so quickly.  My thought on this is that sometimes when a kitten is young and the heart is involved, the heart is able to keep up with bodily needs. But as the kitten grows, there's more demand on the heart and it then simply cannot keep up with the need for breathing.  She was super loved.

Today, we will have 2 adoptions.  I normally don't list them until the event has happened, but it'll be later this afternoon and this will be my last blog until my return.  I'm so happy about this--the brothers King and Donatello will be going into a great home together! We already know their new dad and he's a great guy! King and Donatello are awesome kitties--super sweet, super ornery and they can play until they are exhausted!  So happy for the 3 of them!

You all take good care. While I am gone, I will do very little on my phone but I'll catch up when I return.  The kitties and cats are fine!  I have complete trust in the volunteers!

Friday, September 18, 2020

Magic just took a flying leap off of my desk. He likes to do that--makes him feel like he has all 4 legs!  Coralie is in a high bed beside my desk.  She likes that too--makes her feel like she can go anywhere! Hensley is in my lap--this boy always needs lots of reassurance that he is loved.  Zelda is on my desk--making sure the kittens stay away from her open jar of snackers. Mesa just now leaped from up high, right onto the keyboard. I ask him all the time not to do that. But...he purrs at me and then he's off again to get into mischief!  Love that boy. Miko, King, Bamboo and Donatello are zipping around like wild things on the high catwalks. Sounds like a herd of elephants Cohen just came p for some head rubs.  Life is good.

This now makes our total at...................a whopping $2,400!
And then Consolation Prizes were drawn.  Congrats to all those folks. Everything went out in yesterday's mail!

My deepest thanks to everyone who made this fun-raiser possible. To those that donated the items, to all the ticket people, to the mods, to Marcia and Lynnette for working on writing out the tickets, to the admins----so many wonderful people. And to all those that pass on their Congrats to the winners. It's all very wonderful and much appreciated.

And let's do these thanks too for donations:
Christopher S--donation to FFRC
Mindy R--donation to FFRC in honor of Schinn, who is a wonderful auntie that takes care of their kitty babies when they go away.
James R--donation to FFRC
Deborah S--donation to FFRC
Kittyflynn--donation to FFRC
Lynne W--donation to FFRC
Tom W--donation to FFRC
Mary LF--donation to FFRC, in honor of her extraordinary daughter, Michelle for her birthday (Tuesday)

I've been asked this..yes, we have black masks with a white pawprint and FFRC on it.  If interested, just send a paypal or if paying by check, just an email.  It's a free will donation. Let me know how many you want. Big thanks to Megan and Goin' Postal for making these possible. They are comfortable, black only!

Yesterday was our HumaneOhio surgery day. We sent up 41 cats and kittens.  That came to 21 females and 20 males. FFRC sent up 4--Irene, Frankie, Jersey and Dyambu.

Irene is doing wonderful as are her babies.  Their sliding patio door is now open many hours each day. It's peaceful and no fussing. The kittens are coming out more and more. Especially, Paulie--he is a super wanderer, even climbing steps!  And every morning we open up all the doors, clear to the back Thumper's Room.  THose that want to go back there, can. And those that want to wander up front, can!  Getting everyone use to each other and different rooms.  Won't be long until we close down the back Thumper's Room (again!) and have everyone up front.

We had 4 adoptions!
McSplash--was adopted on 9/15. He is King of his house and is much loved. His new family has big lounge chairs and he enjoys watching TV with them. We weighed him before he left and he had already lost a bit over 1 pound--that is good and hopefully will continue for a few more pounds!

Musco---adopted 9/17. This family came in with the idea that they wanted Musco and it was indeed the kitten for them. He will have lots of toys and love.

Traverse--adopted 9/17.  At first, a different kitten was picked and then....Traverse climbed up into the lap and made his plea that it should be him that would be adopted.  In all honesty, I think these folks would've adopted 6 of them, if they could!

Tippy Toe--adopted 9/17. Tippy Toe pretty much claimed these folks from the moment they walked in the door. Was a real charmer! Another awesome home.

OBX in North Carolina is calling my family again for our annual vacation again.  Steve and I will be leaving on Thursday, the 24th sometime in the morning. The house we will be staying in, is in Corolla. We will be there on the 26th to the 3rd.  We then will spend a second week at another house in Rodanthe.  Both are along the ocean, which as a family, we all love.  The volunteers will take excellent care of all the kittens and cats. They and the mods know they can reach me anytime for questions, etc.  During these two weeks, I'd like to ask that, if possible, to hold off on sending boxes.  If they come, it's ok, but will wait until my return. I will also not be doing emails during this time.  It's a time for family, rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. And I am very excited!

Clive and Caden are doing wonderful. They are so little but sure scurry around.  Dyambu is doing better each day. He seems to have needed extra rest--was sleeping a lot but each day is better.  Poor guy had a rough time. He's a good purrer.

For those anticipating Boom Boom's adoption this Saturday--it is on hold for a bit. His mama had a change of plans but the adoption is still on. Just a different day--after vacation time now.

We also have Cohen and Djinn on hold! That will also happen in October.  Hard to believe we are talking October already.

Our next HumaneOhio is this Monday. Hoping for a full load!

Take good care and have a wonderful weekend.
