We have an update on Edwina! Sounds like things are going good. She is making friends with her new cat family of BooBoo and Bandit. "Things are going well and she has certainly showed her self composure in her new home.  She is a delight and loves to be petted".

We have received the Respiratory Panel back on the black kittens.  As we already knew, it is the herpes virus. But more importantly, it indicates which antibiotic is most effective for the strain that they have. This medicine is one we give as a compounded antibiotic, which we have to send away for.  They are already doing so much better.  We have a couple eyes that are showing some problems, but we work on them several times everyday.  Their activity level is very good now as is their appetite.  They should be ready for their 5 spays and 1 neuter on 3/9.

It's official--Feather is the bird watcher and Sasekani is the feeder of the 8 kittens!  We do put Feather in the condo at night with her 4 kittens and she will nurse them then. All 8 tumies are round. The kittens are all toddling around and are more mobile. I love seeing them on their backs, with their full
tummies and their legs waving in the air!

Pinto has made his way out to be a Covie.  We had a feeling from the beginning that he was not real tamed and not happy in the people world.  While he tolerated us, he was super cautious of being touched.  He's eating good, is healthy, neutered.......he's just not a happy inside camper. HE went to the Cove Saturday morning. He used the litterbox, ate some food and played in the tunnels attached to the walls.  I think he will be happier there.

Mowgli is doing better.  She has now gained a full pound in this very short time of being here. Her fur will grow back. She has such a sweet personality.  The only worry is her mouth. She obviously is feeling better as she's been able to eat fairly comfortably. Dr. Darcy will look at her on Saturday. In the meantime, she's getting lots of TLC and head rubs which she loves.

We are going to have a change of plans for Tim.  The people who brought him in told us he had never been inside and not handled. We can tell that by his actions. He is not a happy boy. And you all know, to FFRC, finding that happy place for each cat is ultimate in our eyes. There's a rescue in Indiana that does nothing but feral/scared cats.  They are already making a run for a pick up in Fort Wayne and said they would be happy to take Tim.  He will have his leg amputation on Thursday and after his sutures are out, will join in the huge fence protected area they provide for these cats. HE will find his happiness there.  I am never a believer in MAKING a cat be something they cannot be happy at, such as making a cat be inside when the heart is designed for outside living. Inside living is so much safer, as witnessed by what happened to Tim.  I find comfort in knowing he will find his safe, happy place.

Tomorrow is our HumaneOhio surgery day.  Looking to have a full load.

Tuesday at noon, is another Quickie Flash Sale.  We will be showing all kinds of blankets, some of which are the leggydews, biggiedews, the button blankets, crocheted blankets--lots of styles! This sale will help us with our L-lysine and colostrum supplements.

Tomorrow, Monday, is Barin's appointment with the cardiologist. It's at 1:00.  Keep him in your good thoughts and prayers.  A report will be given as soon as I have it.

Take care and enjoy this wonderful Sunday!
