Busy busy times here. We had the most fantastic fun-raiser this week. It was called Checks, Cash, Coins, Paypals for Cats!! It was all about helping the Rescue Center. And this is what was so awesome about this. We started with a donation of $3,000 that was anonymously donated. This person was hoping it could be matched, to give the FFRC a whopping $6,000 amount!
Well, with a super grateful heart, you, our friends matched it many times over! Here's a breakdown of this fun-raiser:
Tuesday brought in $4,236.58
Weds. brought in $3,412.00
Thursday brought in $6,876.99--all of this without the matching yet.
And since the original matching amount was $3,000, you can see it was far exceeded!
The total of these 3 days came to $14,525.57.
The cats wanted to help and they donated $200 of crisp new $1 bills that they hid all over the rescue center. We're still missing $2 !! What fun! We found dollars in the litter box, in the microwave, under beds, in the freezer, inside condos--everywhere!
Our matching original $3,000 was bumped up to $1,000 by the same anonymous person. Wednesday, I received TWO different anonymous donors--these two people were sure we would outuse the $3,00! These two donations came to $2,200. Such giving hearts.
By the time all the bump ups were given, our GRAND TOTAL CAME TO .......(drum roll please)....$22,000.00 even. 💙💛💜 All of this given with love, compassion and kindness. And all of this received with a huge, grateful heart. You all are simply amazing. My promise to you is that every single dollar will be used wisely and carefully.
I know this is a hard time right now for individuals, for businesses, for rescues and shelters. I know it's difficult to donate for many. Please....I just want everyone to know we appreciate each and everyone. I said this the other day--our friendships are not based on money giving. It is given and received with compassion, caring and friendliness. If finances are hard, you can still help FFRC by many ways------------Using the FFRC Amazon link, using the Scrip program, watching and liking our FFRC videos, giving miles for Resqwalk, sharing FFRC's YT stream with family and friends. Your good thoughts and prayers are extremely important to me. And the cheering squad that you all are is very uplifting. I am told repeatedly--you have our FFRC's back. And I sincerely believe that is true. Another thing that is so nice and appreciated--the way you give "thank yous" and "way to go's" on the cam or fb posts for FFRC friends. The encouragement you give others means a lot to me. I thank you all for this.

We have had 4 more adoptions!
Holly--adopted 8/21. She went with a friend of ours that has lots of love to give. Holly will be one very happy girl! The pictures of Holly in her new home are so sweet!
Marti--adopted 8/22. She was adopted into a home with a mom/dad and 4 kids. Marti was wonderful and so good with the kids. I've already seen pictures that shows a happy girl!
Veronica and Freedom--adopted 8/22. These two sweet kittens went with volunteer and friend Elizabeth and Elliott. I've also seen pictures of these two kittens in their new home and they look very content. Another great home!
Smokey and her 4 kittens are doing wonderful. Little Jersey has springs on her legs and bounds all over the room but still likes her time with mama. Little Frankie too is one busy boy. The other two kittens are still in the nest. It's interesting to see 4 different ages!
We've taken on a new kitten. His name is Danny, a Name a Cat name. He appeared on our farm yard--came running right up to me. He's all black, male, about 7 months old. His birthday is 1/15/20. He looks alot like Miko. To tell them apart, Danny received a "flat tail"--the fur on the end of his tail was cut flat. He's a very vocal boy and so loves attention.
You may have heard that King wasn't feeling very good after his surgery but yesterday he is back to himself. He and Donatello (brothers) are very sweet and so loves attention.
The outside cats are all doing very well. We are still working on one more stray on the farmyard. His name is Merlin. He's a buff cat. We believe he's a male. Our goal is to catch him and get him neutered. He's trusting us much more and is eating with the FIrehouse cats. Just stays right outside of reach yet. But, we're winning him over!
I've been asked about the baby chicklets. They are growing! They have a 5-section pen that is very large for them--they go in there at night and the doors are closed, for their safety. In the mornings, the doors are opened and they come out into their huge exercise area! They get very excited for breakfast and all want to rush out the doors at the same time!
We have more adoptions coming up!
On the 31st, we will have another HumaneOhio. Please take care, stay healthy. Have a wonderful Sunday.
