Where would be the last place on earth that a mouse would want to be? Easy answer---in a cat rescue! But that is exactly what happened yesterday here at FFRC.  We had a mouse come in to visit and then couldn't get out. Clarissa was on alert and found it. It got away and who is chasing this mouse?  Why, the humans!  The cats were too busy watching the humans.   All is fine--in the end, the mouse was caught and released across the road where there's brush and bushes.  The cats  (except Clarissa) all got an F in mouse chasing!

We took on two new kitten babies. And are they ever cute!  They were found in a closet when a family was doing some cleaning out. Apparently a feral cat found an entrance/exit.  Mama left and was seen outside. The family will be trying to trap her to get her spayed.  The 2 kittens are sweet, 4 weeks old and are purring! Their birthday is 3/17/18.  They arrived yesterday morning.
Gisela (pronounced Geez-la) is a beautiful calico.  left side of nose is black, right side is gold and she has 4 white feet.
Thane is the brother. His right side of face is black and left side is white. He too has 4 white feet. He's the lead purrer!

We also had 2 adoptions yesterday.  Two wonderful cats--Grizzabella and Fenella.  They were visited about 2 weeks ago and now the adoptions are complete! They have a family together with several older kids still at home. When they had visited, even Grizzabella warmed up to them and played!

This next Saturday is our FFRC surgery day. We're not sure yet how many we will have as it all depends on how much the kittens weigh. We'll be doing weight checks this week again.

This morning the door was kept shut to the front Thumper's Room and the door to the back Thumper's Room was left open. The kittens immediately got into the idea--run, run, run!  Back and forth!  And to add to the fun, Jillian's kitties are starting to get out of the pool.  I'm predicting by Tuesday morning, they'll have it down-pat how to get out.  Getting back in is another story though!

This year we have added a purple martin house on the property. I'm so hoping to draw these wonderful birds in. Will keep you posted.

Bonnie update! Bonnie is now officially a Moss house cat!  Her birthday is 4/13 and so on her birthday, she was told she never had to worry anymore about not getting to stay in the house. She is 100% my housecat now!  My other cats already know her well and all is peaceful.  Her fvorite two things--wrapping herself around Steve's legs and rubbing my chin with her chin--hard!  She is loved!  And......no, I do not have a wheel in the house for her, but she will have a Catio as soon as the weather is good. She'll enjoy going out there!

Pania has some words to say --  "Learn to make sense of the darkness".  She, like other blind cats learn so quickly how to adjust. They truly are amazing. Their brain soaks up the roadmap of their home. Rarely is a mis-step done! So much sensory work is at play with these cats!  Take care and have a great day.
