Clarissa--our adult black/white went into a home where I believe she is going to be very happy in. The family picked Clarissa out as their special cat. Her adoption was 5/1.
Mama Emma Jane, Eula and Erica went to their new home yesterday....all together! Their new mama had picked them out long ago and had to wait until the kittens were spayed which happened Tuesday. I've already seen a video of them in their new home and they look so happy and relaxed! That makes my day!
One of the goals for Catathon is to enlarge the parking lot. While the parking lot is rather long, it is fairly narrow which sometimes poses a problem. We realized last year after having the property staked out that we have quite a bit of space to the side of the parking lot. We are jumping right on this because sometimes backing out of the spots presents a big problem. With all the parking that has to happen for our HumaneOhio events, we felt it's important to get this project going. Most of the left side will be wider, anywhere from 3 feet to 8 feet--this will make a huge difference. The framing in starts today and the concrete will come next week.
Callisynne and her litter are doing wonderful. All 7 little tummies are plump and round. Mama is eating good and is feeling good too. Once in a while, she comes out for a quick stroll-around to stretch her legs.
The Izzie Litter acts like they've always been here. They are now down on the floor with the rest of the kittens in the back Thumper's Room. They are practicing their play stunts and running like little crazy kitties! All is good in this room.
Gutherie is now in the Main Area and slid in like she had always been a part of FFRC. Such a sweet girl--I have a feeling she will find a new home very soon.
Lucie has it all figured out--she has a certain meow that means--uppie (in Vernon language). It always works. She is a true lap cat!

It's been really nice this week. Some of the cats remember going out to Bella's Place, Janie's dog run. Some have been out there now this week, enjoying the space and outdoor-feel. We have the safe Cat Purr-fect Fence for safety.
Jeff Bob and JB Tennessee are now "big boys" and have graduated to the Main Area. Two rambunctious and ever so sweet kittens.
Farm yard update: all is good. Grass in the corrals is finally starting to grow, which the horses like. Geese, ducks and our hen are laying eggs. The population of the birds on the farmyard is down. We've lost a few geese---they were in their 20's. Soon, I'd like to get a few more geese, hens and guinea hens. Milly the donkey loves to bray--can hear her from quite a distance!

Charmaine is a wonderful cat. Her CH is mild. She likes to climb up and look out the windows. She can also jump from the floor (even though a bit wobbly) right into a lap. She then circles around and settles in for a back rub.
Remember the shelf that had been Eddie White's for so long? As you know, he finally gave that up and is in many places now in the Main Area. It always thrills us to see him on the move. His shelf has been taken over by Marie April! She loves the view--the window right there gives her great enjoyment. She also likes to be talked to when you're on the porch, thru the window!
