We've had 4 more adoptions! Blu was adopted on 4/27. She went to a new mom/dad that has been waiting for weeks for her! They were so excited and I know Blu will be so loved. Her new name is now Olive.
Bloppity and Diggles was adopted on 4/27 also. They went to a new home with 2 little girls that fell in love with these two kittens. When they arrived for their adoptions, each girl picked up her new kitten and each kitten promptly snuggled into their arms! So sweet. Their new names are Cinci for Diggles and for Bloppity is Nati for Cincinnati!
And then on 4/28, Iggy was adopted. She went into another wonderful home and will have a very nice dog as her new playfriend. Such a gorgeous kitten.
And our population has increased:
Hilary--arrived 4/22. She's a long hair muted calico with a cute cream splotch on her upper forehead! She was spayed on 4/24 with HumaneOhio and has now settled in at FFRC. Originally she was going to go back to her neighborhood but she's so very sweet she really would do awesome as an indoor cat! Her birthday is 10/17/16. She has no lower incisors--we're not sure what happened. A real nice girl.
Gutherie--a light orange female, arrived last evening 4/30. She was found in a yard with no one claiming her. She's a bit thin, super friendly and very talkative. She's 8 months old with a birthday of 9/4/17. We tested her, bathed her, wormed her and got her initial vaccines in and then sent her to HumaneOhio today for her spay. She sure likes to talk to you when you ask her questions!
The Izzle Litter (say that 5 times fast!!). We took in 5 new kittens. They are 5 weeks old with a birthday of 3/22/18. We had agreed to take in this litter if mama was spayed which is being done today with HumaneOhio. Here's the scoop on these 5 sweeties!

These 5 babies are in the back Thumper's Room, using two pens for more room for playing. They are eating good and have had their initial vaccine and wormings. A tiny bit shy but already coming around big time! They love to romp and tear around in their pens.
And then Callisynne had her kittens on Sunday. At 3:30 am she already had 3 of them. Unfortunately, one did not survive (birth defects). So that made 2. After #3, she waited until afternoon to have her last 2. So she had 5 live births. One is white with a grey tail, 1 is grey silver and the other 3 are grey silver/white.
On Sunday, we were asked to care for two kittens, 2 weeks old, that had been in a bad house fire. Unfortunately, there was human loss involved and also the loss of 14 cats. The fire was Friday, kittens and their mama was found Saturday. They were saved due to being in a metal closet but mama then passed. But, she saved her babies and was found huddled down on top of them. Kittens were brought to FFRC on Sunday. After giving a bath to get the smoke off of them and given medication to help with their irritated lungs, they were given to Callisynne who within 2 seconds took them on. She was tremendous and did not even hesitate in taking them. They are long furred kittens, greyish-brown in color---very different colorings. Both are female babies.
This morning, all 7 babies are doing very good. All tummies are round and mama is doing wonderful. She just purrs and purrs. We will keep track of tummies and make sure all are full.

Remember Orpha--a wonderful torti kitten that was adopted from FFRC? She will be a 2 year old in June. She is happy and healthy and beautiful. Her mama says she is a joy to her every day!

And today......what a great day! It's HumaneOhio day! We sent 40 cats up! This broke down to 27 females and 13 males. Three of the females were from FFRC--Gutherie, Eula and Erica. We hope their return will be about 5:30 ish today. Our next FFRC surgery date is May 19.
