All the surgery cats have recovered very nicely. It's amazing how they just bounce right back. Livingston's tail looks good. He's getting antibiotic ointment to it daily. Sutures will be removed next week. Phoebe continues her antibiotic and is ornery, silly and eating great.
Alice Mary is also picking up her appetite (again). Please always disregard her messy face---we clean and clean it but when she plops that flat face into food, it's bound to be messy. We're just thrilled that she is ever so slowly gaining weight.
Cairys and Peanuts are running around here like crazy cats. They don't care at all if they bop into some other cat or furniture. They just keep on going--chasing each other. Sure looks fun!
I want to say a special thank you to Gusti who provided water, juice and pop for this past weekend. And to Joyce D for providing pizza for Saturday's surgery. And to Donna for the Birthday Cake in honor of all the volunteer's birthdays for Sunday, at our Annual Meeting. So very kind of all of you!
We took on a new kitten yesterday--a pure white Persian, 4 months old. Her name is Olivia. She is in need of the nasal surgery that will open her nostrils. She is a sweetie and will be visiting the vet's soon. Her birthday is 10/15/16.
We are going to let Lucas be a Covie. Lucas came from the outside, other than the short time the man who mistreated him, had him. Lucas spends most of his time at the windows or doors, scratching at them and looking outdoors. I sincerely feel he will be much happier outside in the Cove. He's such a great boy but seems to be restless. I do believe his heart is wanting to be that outside boy that he always had been. Since the weather is so very nice, we will take him there sometime today.
Katharine is now in Cat's Corner Room. She is slowly adjusting. She ate a good breakfast this morning! It will take her time as her complete life style has changed. But, I do believe she will be a happy girl that will enjoy her freedom. Time always helps.
Our Annual Volunteer Meeting on Sunday was wonderful. It's always so nice to see so many volunteers all together. Attendance was high. They really are the best of the best. THEY are the backbone of this Rescue Center. They have been giving me good ideas, suggestions for FFRC. It was so nice weather we actually had the meeting under the Shelter House---can't hardly believe we could do that in February!
We didn't have BOXES last night because we had a Board Meeting at 5:00. Lots of good info going on there too and suggestions!
Today--want to have some fun? We will have a Mich and Vern Flash Sale! 2:00 ish. We have lots of items that are brand new to Flash Sales! Come and join us--even if it's just for the moral support! Thanks so much to Mich, Vern and our mods who help us alot with these Flash Sales. Some of our items are hand made by viewers---big thanks to you too!
