I have come to realize again, that our FFRCNation is a great group of people. It's amazing to me....every day I see compassion, friendship, helpfulness, laughter, sharing of family and cat stories, I see goodness everywhere I look and that sure can fill a heart with happiness. I thank you all for being a part of FFRC.
The kittens are ornery! The cats are too! It's a cooler day and the orneriness is coming out of all of them! I love to watch them play--they get so wound up and then they crash into a nice pile of sleepy cats!
We have many thank yous to give--some from BOXES, some from PayPal. I am grateful.

Let's have BOXES this evening at 5:30 pm instead of 6:00. That would be a good thing!
We took in a new kitten two days ago. She is a young 1/2 Persian female. She is beautiful--brown tiger. It appears that she's been shaved sometime in her past--her back and sides are much shorter than the rest of her. I wonder what happened to her? She was just a found cat and was at a person's house for a few days. This person has been back to visit her. Her name is Missy Maloo, a Name A Cat name. She's quite beautiful.
We also took in another kitten--a baby. A little black kitten. He's been tested and is also negative. He just appeared out of no where at a lady's home, right before the big rain last night. He's about 4 weeks old. Because he is negative as is CathyKay, we will see if this new kitten can become part of the group. His name is now known as Ichabod, a Name A Cat name. Welcome, little fella.
I've had a couple people asking about Slick. I'd happy to say he is doing awesome. It took him most of a week to get back to snuff after his dental--but he's now doing great. Loves to be petted, enjoys sleeping on the bed, a real sweet friend. Zertyle too is good!
We have surgery dates!
Little Gusti and Trucker both have dates now and they're going together. The date is October 15th. Gusti will be glad not having that awful eye draining. It's a constant source of cleaning it and she has absolutely no vision in it. It's breeding ground for bacteria and infection, so this will be a good thing for her.
On Trucker, we have been waiting until he gets bigger, which he has been doing. I've been asked by several---are you sure this is absolutely necessary to remove his legs. This is how I try to explain it. Each day that goes by, he loses even more muscle in those rear legs. We need some muscle left for him to have a nice stump pad to move about on. That's important. We also need skin. His skin is becoming very thin on those back legs--from him pulling them around. Not a good thing, as we also need skin to make those stump pads. The area that is rubbing is about the area that the skin will be pulled from. There's also a third reason---as he continues to grow, so do those legs and because they are absolutely stiff, they appear to be so so long. Yesterday, both back legs were past his ears as he was moving about. The feet are also starting to curl backwards which is causing another place to rub. So....we have been playing a time game with him--waiting long enough to grow more but not so long as to make the surgeries even more difficult.
Have a great day. Whatever you do, do it with all your heart!
