We've had two more adoptions! That wonderful kitten Sweet Pete went to his new home yesterday. And he will have a great friend--Jondalar who was adopted from FFRC the end of Jan.  I have a feeling they will be rocking and rollin' the house!

Zuri, one of the sister Siamese kittens also went to her new home! Zuri is a lavender point and has a wonderful new family! One more Siamese adoption left!

Update on Sylvia II.  She is with a friend of FFRC's who will take very good care of her.  Sylvia wanted outside every minute every day.  We could no longer be 100% sure of her staying inside as she was a whiz at slipping out the door.  Our friend has a gorgeous cat screened in porch that faces the woods. She can visit that porch anytime she wants and no doors to escape thru!  Eventually, FFRC will take the kittens!

We took on a new young adult. Her name is Josette (a Name a Cat name). She's actually still a kitten--is 11 months old but soon will be a year old. Her birthday is 5/21/2019. She was found by a volunteer. Josette is a beautiful light torti. She has a sweet personality and seems to enjoy people and the other cats. I'm sure she will be up in the Main Area soon. Josette arrived 4/23.

We've heard from the family that adopted Siamy. "She is doing great! The other kitties are coming around to her. They are very curious about the tiny little newcomer. Before long they'll be chasing each other around the house. She uses the litterbox on her own and has found the food and water too! Thank you so much for taking care of her until she could get home!"

I've also heard from Alyssandra and Gyovannah's family again.  All is good. Both of the girls are happy and relaxed and enjoy their night time play sessions.

We had BOXES yesterday! Want to say a special thanks to MK for being our Catetary!

We had a wonderful quickie Flash Sale on Weds.  This went towards our monthly bills.  We put up Pillows by Hatmaker and Crate Pads and Catnip Pads by Warped. We made $537 from the flash sale. We are so very thankful. Thanks to the Flashy Mods for their help!

It's officially spring weather (we hope!).  The clear plastic came off of the cat's sunporch. Plus the plastic guard for the Cove came off--it provided a wind shield for the door of THTJB. We do still have the heat lamps plugged in--it's still a bit chilly at night.

Coralie's incision is healing very nicely. Soon her sutures will be out.
Mayor Anony had a date with the vet dentist this week.  He had 4 teeth removed. That night, he spent here in the front Thumper's Room but was glad to go back out to the Cove the next morning.  We have 4 other cats scheduled for their dentals in May.

We have more THANKS to give:

Kelly L--donation for FFRC
Marti W--donation to FFRC

Burgundy--donation in memory of dear Farrah
Karen M from OR--donation to FFRC
Randi M and Mary D--donation for FFRC

The kittens of Basani and Kimmie have been having some fun in the mornings. Mamas are placed in a pen (for safety--those mama cats can be super protective!).  And the doors to their rooms are opened for the kittens to come out into the Main Area by themselves. They are so very cute and very active. And I just love this---when they are tired and ready for a nap, they know where their room is. They go back and snuggle in for a nap.  Door is shut and mamas are returned!

Minnie and kittens are also doing well. They are so very round! A big sea of grey and white roly poly kittens! All are healthy. They are getting stronger on their legs.

Please.....you all take very good care.  Come May, Ohio will slowly start doing a trickle of opening things up.  FFRC will not yet be open to the public until later in May. We are being careful, because of our volunteers.  We value their health.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Weds., April 22, 2020

It's chilly out there today!  Still wearing my winter coat to do the morning breakfast for the outside cats.  Brrrrrr.

An extra special day!  Our Jessie is now 21 years old! She arrived here on 5/26/14 at 15 years old.  She's part Maine Coon. Her original mom had a health problem and could no longer care for her. Friends of ours knew her mom and FFRC and asked us to take her. I remember once talking to Jessie's original owner and she told me stories about Jessie who had been an outside cat in her younger years. She would bring "presents" to her mom, including a 3 foot long snake once.  Snake was released unharmed and Jessie was so proud! She's a happy girl.  Her Meow is attended to and gets what she needs!

We had an adoption!
The third Siamese kitten went to her new home. Siamy left on 4/21!  I've already seen a picture on fb and all looks well!  The last two Siamese kittens will be leaving soon.

We took on a new cat--her name is Sylvia II. She was found by a friend of FFRC (and has adopted from us!). She obviously is pregnant. She's also a talker or I should say a part time hisser!  But her hisses don't mean anything. She loves people contact.  Sylvia arrived this past Sunday and made her way up to the Main Area this morning. Hopefully she will get comfortable before her babies are born.

Our other newbie cat who is really a kitten yet is Sweet Pete. He's doing wonderful and has made friends with everyone--people and cats. Sometimes when you talk to Sweet Pete, he falls right on over so he can get a bellyrub!  We have a possible home for him already!

Do any of you remember our Jansen?  He was adopted in 2009. His family sent me a note--they love him and he melts his mama's heart! Such a lover cat. He will be 11 on May 25.

And here's another one. Remember Lara? Her mom wanted to let us know that she just celebrated her 13th birthday last week and is still a kitty at heart. They love her very much. Her name now is MissChief!

We had BOXES on Monday--the cats and I are very grateful!

Sunday, April 19, 2020

I so enjoy my morning computer work. The reason....the cats keep me company!  I have the usual here on the desk---Lucy, Zelda, Lena.  On the ramp beside me is Magic, with his paws hanging over the edge like he always does.  Ramsay is in his tall sided bed which he loves. Coralie is in her round cubicle. Spiker is in my lap--he doesn't mind that my leg is sound asleep. Asha is watching my fingers move from her soft bed. And the best---Jessie is on top of my desk, looking over to meow at me! Life is good.

We had surgery day here at FFRC yesterday. We did 4 spays and 1 neuter.  That gives us a total for 2020, 164 females and 132 males=296.  A far cry of where we wanted to be but with the coronavirus shutting down HumaneOhio, we have to understand and be patient. As soon as we can, we will start again full speed ahead, with our spay and neuter programs.

We were able to spay the 3 female Siamese kittens and also Basani.  We had hopes of also spaying Kimmie but her lungs are not yet 100% (she arrived with a nasty URI).

And then we had a male cat neutered! One of our volunteers found this sweet boy and brought him to FFRC.  He's a deep orange tiger, a bit of white on his chin. He's 9 months old, with a birthday of 7/7/19.  He's a big boy, weighing 9.07. He also arrived with a boatload of fleas but those are now gone. Such a sweet boy, super friendly, loves to have his tummy rubbed. His name is Sweet Pete, a Name a Cat name.

Dr. Darcy also took a look at that growth on the back of Coralie's neck. She wanted to remove it which of course, we did.  She has a fair amount of sutures, did great with the anesthetic and recovered beautifully.  Her sutures will come out in 2 phases--1/2 in 10-11 days and the remainder in 2 weeks.

I'd like to thank Gusti for providing our drinks for surgery day and to Joyce D for providing our lunch of pizza and bread sticks! So very kind of you both.

We have thanks to give (our hearts truly are so grateful)--
Janice B from NM--donation to FFRC, use where it is needed
James G from Canada--donation to FFRC
Marlene, Nance and wee Nellie--donation in memory of Cutie
Gene and Pat  M--donation in memory of Cutie
Brian C--donation to FFRC
Mary & Michelle LF--donation in memory of our beloved Cutie
Pat D--donation to FFRC
Katie, Rob and furbaby Max--donation in memory of Cutie

The kittens of Kimmie and Basani are now exploring their rooms. While they sure are short to the ground, their curiosity is high. They are climbing on their pillowbeds, batting each other and just starting to eat a bit by themselves.  In a couple weeks, we will start putting HOLDS on these 8 kittens.  Soon to follow will be HOLDS on Minnie's kitties too.  They are all healthy and ever so sweet.

The Siamese kittens will be leaving soon. Their families will make plans as to when they can come. We will continue to practice health safety.

All is good here. Cats and kittens are healthy.  Won't be long until there's a bunch of kittens roaming around in the Main Area from our 3 mamas!  Two litters have already received their Bordetella vaccine. In the meantime, it's fun to watch the residents forming deeper bonds of friendship and just having the whole place to themselves.  Things will change quickly, I'm sure, when we can open up the Rescue Center but that will have to wait for now.  First importance is to keep the volunteers healthy.

Take care, wash those hands, stay home and stay healthy!

Last blog it was the fierce wind. Today it's snow.  Yes, snow.  Seems impossible but that's what the forecasters are saying for us.  Possible 4 inches of wet snow.  But, temperatures will be going up and that wet white stuff will be gone!  I just worry about the animals.  The robins need a jacket!

Tomorrow is a go---our FFRC surgery spay day with Dr. Darcy. We will again work with only four of us--Dr. Darcy, Amber, Lynnette and myself.  And we will only do 5 spays--the 3 Siamese sisters, Kimmie and Basani.  I will also have Dr. Darcy look at that growth on Coralie's neck and see what needs done with that.

Please.....I need to let you know about our Cutie girl.  She has passed on.  We all know how frail and fragile she has been recently. But, her determination kept on going.  She actually ate a fairly good supper last night and also her breakfast this morning.  When I came in from feeding the outside cats their breakfast, I noticed she was still in her bed. Normally, she's at my feet, ready for lap time. I took her in the house to hold her and she passed just minutes after that.

Cutie's birthday is 7/12/2006. She arrived 7/26/06, just a little bitty kitty. She arrived with a cuterebra in her forehead area, which was removed. She always had a "list" to her walk--would go sideways. But........that was fine. She was super happy and one of the sweetest cats ever on earth. She passed while doing her favorite thing....being in a lap and also having her chin rubbed. Thank you all for caring about our Cutie girl.

I've heard from the family that adopted Kiowa. She is doing wonderful. Her big brother Corby (who was also adopted from FFRC) has decided she and him can be great play mates and are having fun. They are both very loved.

We had a biggeydew and leggydew FLash Sale on Weds.  This was to help with our monthly bills. Every blankie sold and Pania, who was our cheerleader, received extra Pania flakes for encouraging our viewers! This Flash Sale brought in $555.  Many thanks to Warped who made those particular blankets, to the friends that purchased them and to the Flashie Mods for your help.

I am beholden to you all.  When this Coronavirus first took hold and I very sadly had to put our Closed Sign up, truthfully, I was very worried about how we would pay our bills with us being shut down. Yes, it's been very different here, but you viewers and supporters have not been shut down.  BOXES still arrive and donations have still come in.  I am beyond grateful.

Here's some thanks:

Our plans:  next week the 3 Siamese kittens will probably be going to their new homes! Their families have anxiously been awaiting them. We saw one of the brothers this week and he is doing wonderful.   The end of the last week of April, we are looking to start making appointments for the 14 kittens to have holds put on them. We have quite a bit of interest in them.  At that time, we will schedule the appointments, wear masks and bring the kittens into a room for the families to see. All appointments will be staggered.  And then.......they have to be spayed/neutered before they can be adopted.

I'm looking out the window and yes, it's snowing.

Today we will be moving Basani and her 3 kittens up to the Kitty Campus Room.  Then Minnie and her litter of 6 will be moving down to the floor of the back Thumper's Room. We are hoping that when the kittens start venturing out into the Main Area, that all 3 mamas will be agreeable to sharing space!

We had BOXES on Weds.  I am so grateful. Everytime a box arrives I am in awe that they keep coming in this time of the Coronavirus.

Here's a poem recently sent to me, by our friend Moosegal. I do not know the author.

               THEY WILL NOT GO QUIETLY
They will not go quietly,
the pets who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.

Old habits still can make us think
we hear them at the door
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.

Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.

And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them...
and always will.

In memory of our Cutie.  I've said before these losses are hard on the heart but happy in the soul.  We knew Cutie's time was coming. We also knew though that she felt our love and was thoroughly happy.  And please, give your pets a big hug from all of us today.

Take care, stay safe, wash your hands! And yes, it is still snowing.

Monday, April 13, 2020

Hang on to your hats and tails and anything else that may be loose!  We're suppose to be getting a very strong wind today, with gusts up to 50-55 MPH.  Batten down the hatches!

All is good here.  Cats are healthy.  Kittens are growing.  The 3 Siamese girl kittens will be ready for their spays on Saturday. And then we will arrange times for their adoptions.  It's also possible we may spay two of the mamas this Saturday as well.  Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, we will be unable to open up any public surgery slots.  Rest assured, once things are safe again, we will get those low cost spays/neuters going again.

Most importantly, our volunteers are also healthy! They are a huge part of what makes this place be possible. I am so grateful for their continued support. Again, once it is safe, all of the volunteers will be back. Some of them have extra concern with the covid due to their home/family situations.

We had BOXES on Saturday.  Such wonderful boxes--we are grateful!

It's happening!  The baby kittens of Basani and Kimmie's are starting to cruise about! They have learned to purr and how to get back into their pillowbeds when they wander.  I so love petting them! Especially when they lay on their backs and reach for the hands! Their mamas are also so sweet.

Minnie, the grey and white mama has settled in nicely. Her kittens are almost two weeks old alredy. Won't be long until they try to wobble about!

Azar was here again this morning.  He's our Porchie that we share with a couple neighbors. He is one big boy and loves to have his breakfast here. We keep up on his flea preventions, wormings, vaccines and twice a year vet checks.  Zavatar is still #1 boss of the Porchies!

We had an adoption on Saturday! When we do these adoptions during this Social Distancing time, we do not have the public come into the Main Area.  They either stay in the Welcome Room or the PawMart.  We are careful and then do wipedowns.  It will be so wonderful eventually, not to have to worry so much. But, in the meantime, when possible, we want to get these cats/kittens into their very own homes.  The cat that was adopted was Kiowa, our beautiful calico! And she went into a wonderful home! I've already seen pictures of her and she looks very happy! This family has adopted from us before.

Alma simply amazes me.  Remember when she first came? She was very concerned about everything. A wonderful young lady brought her here to give her a good life. And I feel that she has so soaked up the good life! I just now watched her take 12 steps unassisted--without leaning on anything.  She came from the main area to the purple office, used the litterbox and then went back to one of her favorite beds. She's active, interested in what's going on, loves to be petted and so enjoys the laser light! She's one special girl.

We have more thanks to give.........you all are awesome!
Lana H--donation to FFRC
Joseph V from ME--donation to FFRC, (been a viewer since 12/25/12)
Kimkost--donation to help with medicines
JillR27 from UK--donation to be used where needed

Take care please...........you are important to FFRC!
Derecho says.......stay home and wash those hands (he said paws but we all know what he means!).

Coralie says.....keep communicating. Social distance doesn't mean we have to be silent!  Visit us on the cam, chat, go onto our fb pages! Visit your family and friends thru the internet!

Magic says......brighten up your corner of the world! Put pictures of your flag in the window, or a rainbow! Bears in windows, sidewalk chalking on driveway gives encouragement and cheer to others.

Pania says....share what you have.  Food banks need donations. Helping to feed those who are hungry is so important. It also gives both sides a happiness boost.

Kiara says.......pass out those thank yous!  Give thanks to those working the grocery store, doing janitorial cleaning, teachers, our delivery people, our healthcare people.  There's so many people to give a note or word of thanks.

Tomorrow is Easter. One we all will remember as spending Easter under the Stay at Home orders. Our lives have all changed so much--so many restrictions but all for the good of our fellow people.

I have been overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude.  Boxes have still been arriving--such a blessing and so happily received.  We have also received some donations that help us with our monthly bills.  And the kindness of friends that just wish us all well and to stay healthy. Our volunteers who continue to come--although we have toned it down some, for safety. They are truly the bestest ever! The cats and kittens who are healthy--so grateful for this. The cats and kittens have provided so much laughter for us during this hard time--they are all very cuddly and playful.

We have thanks to give---and trust me....these are BIG thanks!  I know times are hard financially for all of us, yet we are still receiving some help.

Remember Brynn and Wonder? I've heard from their mom.  They are doing great. The 22 year old cat thinks he is their daddy and tries to clean them! The girls both have tons of energy!  And the best....they like popcorn! That made me smile!  Wonder's name is Renee. They will be 2 on 4/17--hard to believe!

We also heard from the family that adopted Panthy!  Pantalaimon is doing amazing. "All my girls love her and they play well and cuddle well already. We are so grateful for her presence in our family!"  So happy for Panthy!

And we also heard from Pierre's family!  "He is a real sweetheart but definitely has his "wildcat" moments. He has 2 favorite pastimes--watching the birds and eating!  He still likes to do shoulders and Katelyn is his favorite person! He is loved by all".

I want to thank you all who have participated in our two mini fb flash sales this week.  We have applied this to our FFRC bills!  Every little bit helps!

Kimmie's kittens are starting to come off of their big bed!  These 5 kittens are just too cute!  Their legs are getting stronger, their eyes nice and bright.  Their birthdays are 3/15/20.

Basani's kittens are cruising about on their big pillow bed. Yesterday they were playing with a couple ball toys. So sweet and all 3 have booming purrs!  Their birthdays are 3/16/20.

Minnie's 6 kittens are smaller but sure have big round tummies!  They are scooting around a little. They sure love their mama and stay close to her. Their birthdays are 4/1/20.  Won't be long until we move Minnie and babies to the Kitty Campus room.

For Easter, our Trivia mods are doing a special Trivia at 2:00 for your enjoyment!
I'm trying to work a Storytime in for Easter!  Will let you know the time as soon as I can!

The Covies, Firecats, Barnies and Porchies are all doing great. We had turned off their heat lights earlier in the week. But, due to cold temps that came back, we turned them back on! They sure do love their heat! It has frosted this morning, so the nighttimes are still cold. All are doing well. Pinto, a Covie, had a major grooming session this week. Sevaun meows at me every morning, from her Kuranda Tower, letting me know it's ok to serve her breakfast in bed!

The farm animals are doing good too. We're changing the horse corrals a bit--took one line of fencing down to join two areas together. The horses are glad to see some green grass! Millie still brays every morning at us. We got the first goose egg this week too--always makes me think that spring really is here!

You all take good care. I know this Coronavirus time has been hard for everyone. But, we can do this! We all have a part to play in helping to save lives......and that means stay to home, stay your distance, wash your hands often. We are all in this together.

Weds, April 8, 2020

Spring is here! The grass is green, trees are budding, flowers are blooming, robins are plentiful and the gold finches are yellow!

The three mamas are all doing great. They are keeping their weights and all have hearty appetites. Minnie's babies are so very round! Kimmie and Basani's kittens are getting stronger on their legs. Occasionally, one will go out of their big pillow beds but they are not quite yet being adventurous. Won't be long though!  All 14 babies are doing well and ae healthy.

Do you remember Mabel, one of the Abel Kittens? I've heard from her family! She is doing great and today is her Adopt-l-versary! "She is so loved and treasured. Her hobbies include breaking and entering, burglary and bird watching! She's a sweet little girl with quite a personality"!!

We've had another adoption! Zyvan was adopted on 4/3! He went into an awesome home and will have an 11 year old boy to be his best friend!

We are hoping to weigh all the cats and kittens today and do their nail clipping--it's time!

Did you know your inside cat CAN get fleas? Fleas are more than a nuisance. They carry diseases. Humans can bring fleas in from outside. Wildlife can bring fleas into your yards. If you visit someone (not during this coronavirus time please) and they have fleas, you can then carry fleas into your home. It's actually quite easy to get an infestation of these bugs. Easy to get, hard to get rid of. We tell people all the time--it's much easier to PREVENT than to get rid of. It's like declaring a war in your home to get rid of them. For every 5 fleas you see on your pet, there's 100 in your home.  Flea control is not a quick battle, especially if you have multiple pets. But applying flea prevention monthly is very simple.

And......we have more thanks to give!

Cutie is hanging in there. There is nothing better in the world, to her, than her baby food and a lap! What simple joys! Jessie ate a good breakfast today. Lucie spent about 20 minutes today, batting her crumpled up pieces of postie-notes--one of her favorite things. Spiker has learned if he hangs around when Ramsay gets fed, he gets to lick out the bowl! Lena had a free snacker session--I forgot to put the lid on the snacker container and she helped herself. She did share a few pieces with Zelda before I realized what was going on. Kiara has been very talkative lately--a real chatterbox.

All is well here. Wishing you a wonderful, happy, sunny day!

Friday, April 2, 2020

Happy Friday! That sun is going to be shining here in Defiance! I can imagine the Covies and Barnies rolling and rolling in the sunbeams!

We've had 2 adoptions!
Zyny was adopted on 4/1. The first of the Siamese babies. He went into a great home and will have a cat friend!

Pinkerton was adopted 4/2. He's the last of the P litter kittens. He went into a home with other FFRC cats! He arrived in his new home last night after a bit of a drive. I'm told he was a good traveler!

We also took on a new mama with 6 newborn kittens. She arrived yesterday along with her 6 kittens, just hours old. Mama is grey and white and all of the kittens are either all grey tiger or grey/whites! They all look good.  She was found in a neighborhood that normally doesn't see any cats.
Minnie--the mama, grey & white, white whiskers, chin and toes
Tango--male, grey, white tip tail
Vasil--male, all grey
Arvo--male, grey & white, white up nose, grey body
Gypsy--female, all grey

How many ways can you think of that cats show they love you?  Here's a few---that deep wonderful purr, grooming you, slowly blinking their eyes at you, flipping over and showing you their tummy, rubbing their cheek on your cheek, bumping their head on your head and simply wanting to be in your presence!

Spring is officially here!  We are bringing out the tables, benches, gliders and chairs--it's springtime!  This is where we gather as friends when visitors come.  During this covid-19 time, that is greatly reduced but it's still nice to know we will be ready for visitors once this is all over. And the Porchies like it too--more places to sit in the sun!

Cutie continues to gobble up all lap space---which we willingly do. She absolutely loves laps! Asha's left eye is better. She is a good about getting her drops.  Marilyn and Kiara continue to be good friends (along with Vernon of course!), Jessi has found a new place to take her naps--in the round flower on the counter, Janie and Camvie continue to be besties--even bathing each others faces. All is well here. Their happiness gives us all happiness here.

Folks--with a very heavy heart, we are going to have to postpone Catathon for right now. Catathon takes a lot of items to pull it off. I do not feel "right" about pushing Catathon during this health crisis. Everyone is dealing with financial difficulties. The people I depend on to help with the inventory of this cannot come---travel restrictions prevent this.  On the day of Catathon, it takes minimum of 35 people here inside the Rescue Center to make that day happen. We simply cannot do that. Even if there's a quicker end to this than anticipated, it is still not wise to have that many people together yet. As you know, Catathon is our main fund-raiser of the year. For now, we will simply not add to the financial burden by doing improvements. And who knows....maybe we can figure out a way to do this later in the year!  Some day........we will be back in full force!

I thank you all for helping us with our mini FB flash sales.  They do add up and help us tackle those bills.  Take care, everyone. Stay healthy.  We care about you.

Weds., April 1, 2020

YOU are cared about and sincere wishes for good health for you.  And that is no April Fool's!  We love our FFRCNation!

It's only Weds. but seems like such a long week.  The cats and kittens are all doing great. Today we have 2 adoptions--Zyny and Zyvan will go to seperate (and wonderful!) homes.  Tomorrow, our Pinkerton will be also going to his new home.

Basani and her 3 kittens are doing great.  Won't be long until they start tumbling out of their big bed on the floor.  A toe abscess was discovered on Basani's foot. It's been drained, scrubbed and already looks better. She is on antibiotics.

Kimmie and her 5 kittens are also doing great. Those kittens are already wobbling towards the edge of their big bed. Won't be long until they are toddling about.

We "lost" Winston for 2 full, very long days. Couldn't find him anywhere. We searched the usual places he likes and inside all the sheds.  No Winston.  This so upset us.......not knowing is so hard and worrisome.  I went out this morning to feed the Porchies and there he was--soaking up the heat from the red light. He looks a bit roughed up but nothing that petting won't fix!  Gave that boy a super big hug!

I'm sorry to also tell you one of our Porchies has past away. Our sweet Rory has had a bad respiratory problem but that was manageable. But then he became plugged and couldn't urinate. Unfortunately he was 100% plugged.  After much discussion with Dr. Darcy, it was decided to let our Rory go. The PU surgery, the treatment, the prognosis, the long term health plan wasn't to his advantage.

Rory arrived 2/24/12 at 9 months of age. He was trapped behind the police station by a couple volunteers. What a dear cat he always was. He has always been a loved Covie. He sure is missed.

Many thanks to the mods for the Trivia from last night. There's another one on Thursday! Tonight, Billypogo will be having storytime at 9 pm.  Come join the fun!

Monday we had a SOCK fb flash sale. It was wonderful and the socks have been sold!  This went towards another utility bill!  We will continue to have these small but so helpful fb flash sales!

Did you know that everytime you purchase anything from Amazon, whether it's for yourself, FFRC or anyone, that you can benefit FFRC?  It's true!  When you order, if you go to our website at fofrescue.org you can click on AMAZON  (on the gold bar) and it'll take you to Amazon. Anything you order, gives a bit of a donation to FFRC!  We just received our January donation--it came to $264.65.  That's like free money! Many thanks.

I want to acknowledge that I realize these times, for the whole world, are very difficult right now.  Each day holds so many different emotions. We hear the sad stories and then we hear the wonderful stories of what people do for each other. And that is key. There are many ways to help others while still keeping that social distance. Here at FFRC, we have dealt with the death of 3 wonderful cats (Minerva, Rory and Merri). We lost and then found Winston. We have had our utility bills covered. We worry--can we keep on having our volunteers come? We don't want any of the volunteers getting sick. I see BOXES arrive and envelopes arrive and it gives me encouragement.  I see our chatters enjoying each other on the cam. I see our fb friends lifting each other up. I'm just so grateful to be a part of this FFRCNation.

Like I've said before...........when this is over.........watch out!  FFRC will be back in full force!  In the meantime, wash your hands lots (and remember to lotion up too!).  Keep that social distance.....so very important. And get outside for a bit of fresh air everyday.  And also important--give your pets lots of TLC!
