Weds., August 23, 2017

We had a good time viewing the eclipse on Monday. Barb W was kind enough to share the special safety glasses. We had a good time viewing the eclipse together.  And no cats or farm animals looked at the sun---we told them not too and they listened! Of course, we had to bribe with pizza and snackers!

We had BOXES on Monday evening! Always know we are so appreciative!

We have had 4 more adoptions!
Denise went to her new home! What a beauty of a kitten! She has a new mama that has tons of time just to hold, cuddle and play with her!

Guhrid went to her new home too--she's the beautiful calico kitten. Her family has lots of love for her!

Arlo and Allman went to their new home together! I've already heard back from the new family. Arlo likes to snuggle and chew on fingers and Allman is a face licker! Lots of kitty excitement in their new home!

Kukisi went to the vets office yesterday. We were hoping after her chest x-ray that all would be fine and they would be able to get her spayed, using different meds. But, that was not to be. Her x-rays did indeed show congestion in one of her lobes plus her WBC  was elevated. Isn't that just amazing---she is crazy silly, playful, eats good and obviously feels good! That was a good call by Dr. Darcy and Amber on surgery day.  Kukisi will be on antibiotics for 3 weeks, go back in 2 weeks though for a recheck.  In the meantime, she's still acting like a goofy kitten!

We are accomplishing our Catathon Goals!  This is what we have done so far:
lights under walkway, 4-4 foot resin tables, 5 big recycle containers, window in dog /Camvi room, screened in the porch, liability insurance paid, fence to protect visitors on farm yard, added a bit to our Operating Costs. We still need to do the two cement pads. One under the Covies jungle gym and the other under the feeding station. I checked into this last week and we are still on their schedule.

Friday is our next spay/neuter date. It's with HumaneOhio!

Remember, our t-shirt sale is still going on. It's a fantastic shirt with Larissa's Harlequin cat design on the front. This ends on 8/25.  Thanks to Megan, our volunteer, for organizing this and designing the shirt.

The four kittens in the back room are doing really well. Energy level is good, tummies are round and they are happy. These 4 are: Laverne, Katmandu, LJ and Florence.

The 2 new persians are doing so much better! Both are eating good now. Nsuku will now come to us on her own for pettings! Julianne is getting there too. They really are precious.  I have to ask a question.  Why is it so important for some people to ask where they came from?  Does it matter?  No. It truly doesn't matter. They needed a home, they needed FFRC to help them. Their past is of no difference---they are cats that needed help. Plain and simple--and that should be all we need to know. They are here, becoming comfortable and we love them.

It's here! The newest Giggle video, Scene 12. And it's a great video!  The link is:
https://youtu.be/JH5_UZCxmSE    Thanks to  Justme, SonJa and Dawnstar and of course Derecho's Production Company!  Enjoy and like the video if you enjoyed it.

More adoptions are coming up!  Enjoy this wonderful day! 16 more days until Catstock. For those coming and joining in, you are guaranteed to have fun! And the Band Strawberry Hill is revved up for us! It'll be a groovy time!
