A short blog with details about our surgery day yesterday!

A big thanks to Joyce D for the pizza lunch and to Gusti for the drinks for surgery day!

A big thanks to these volunteers too who lent a huge helping hand:  Becky M, Mary Braid, Donnajb, Gem, Sue B.

The boys who were neutered:
Bloppity, Diggles, JB TEnnessee, Jeff Bob

The girls who were spayed:
Marie April, Emmajane, Charmaine, Blippity, Iggy, Blu, Stephanie

We also did 2 neuters and 1 spay for the public plus helped another cat with a grooming that was needed.

All surgeries went very well. We have a new attachment to our monitor that allows us to have excellent readings on inspirations, heartbeat, EKG readings and oxygen level.

Our total spay/neuters now for 2018 is 334.  This includes 2 vouchers that was recently done.  The numbers break down to 186 spays and 148 neuters.

Tuesday we have a HumaneOhio surgery day.

We also did some physicals yesterday.
Paddy Purr--checked his nose. He has had a flare up of his nose recently. We will treat this with a long term antibiotics. He had a diagnosis of Eosinophil Granuloma back in 2013.

Annetta--she is doing surprisingly well! Very little growth of her cancer on her nose. The great thing is that her area where the eye was is not swollen with cancer growth! And her appetite is good and her disposition is pure happiness!

Binker--thyroid is good. She has had some weight loss.  Her physical appears normal but does have a 4/6 heart murmur. At this point, she is showing zero effects of that. We will just monitor her.

Giovanna--her stomatitis is at a minimum at the moment but this can flare up quickly and with a vengeance. The meds that help with this will be again given today and repeated in 2 weeks.  We are hoping that a higher dose will get this under control for a longer "quiet" time for her.

Spiker--has a dental scheduled already for 6/20.  It's the soonest we could get him in. He needs additional work on his K-9 teeth.

Coralie--she has bouts of vomiting still.  She can go days without vomiting and then have increased amounts.  We will change her meds as of this morning. Hoping this will give her better help. Her weight continues to be within 2 ounces of what it was over a year ago!

Callisynne--is indeed very pregnant. Time will tell on delivery schedule!

Derecho--a regular physical. All is good. In over 4 years, his weight stays within a pound. Consistency is good!

Alma--she was diagnosed with mega colon 1 1/2 years ago. After getting past that initial problem, she has not displayed any problems at all. However, in the last week, this has changed. While we have been working with her on this, it wasn't enough. Yesterday we sedated her and gave her an enema which produced a large amount of stool.  Starting today, we have changed her meds to better work with her mega colon.  She is in much better spirits this morning!

Our new cat Stephie is a doll.  So beautiful, great personality, purrs like a truck motor! Is a happy girl and is in the Main Area already.

Take care and have a super wonderful Sunday!
